Mount Semeru is the highest volcano in East Java and the second highest from Java , precisely located in Lumajang . Mount Semeru has a height of 3,676 meters above sea level and is also known as Mahameru or Mount Agung .
Semeru name comes from the Hindu- Buddhist myth , namely Mount Meru or Sumeru , which is the abode of the gods .
Mount Semeru is a volcano is still very active and approximately every 20 minutes once a crater of black volcanic ash and sand .
